IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
"Hi everyone. Gonna keep this brief. Eric Lanham from Caboladies/Carl Calm had his sampler stolen in Chicago on Saturday April 24th, which is the only instrument he had. This happened near Drone City (near Chicago Ave and Grand). He's missing an Elektron Octatrack, which just came out earlier this year (see link below). It is housed in a blue case with metal latches and red trim. The interior has foam cut out to fit the unit. In addition, I had a grey "locker room" rectangular bag that was taken as well. Contained inside is a Shure Beta 58a and Shure SM58 microphone plus speaker cables, instrument cables, and XLR microphone cables. If anyone sees this thing or has any ideas, please let me know or him know! I can be reached via cellphone: 515-554-2681. Thanks.

Thank you for everyone who attended any of the Caboladies, Carl Calm, Dariius, and Driphouse performances and thank you for everyone who had any hand in setting up the shows. We are back and safe.

GEL09 SDM "S/T" C26
Recorded during the early winter of 2010, this is a document of three unique individuals combing their skill and experience into a improvisational piece. The personnel for this recording is Daren Ho of Driphouse, Suzy Poling of Pod Blotz, and Marcia Bassett of Zaimph. The result is a heavy and slow meditating movment of electronics.¶Top

GEL11 Though Broadcast "Demo I" C20
The debut release of Thought Broadcast, Ravi Binning's minimal monosynth punk band. Four songs--this is the band in its most raw and nascent state--freshly generating within the strictures of neurotic action both human and inhuman. A simple strategy for moving among living holograms.¶Top

GEL01 Driphouse "Axe" C31 (pictured right)
The "Axe" release strays from the formula of the Night-People blue-shade trilogy. More digital sequencer featuring analog electric guitar from the Raccoo-oo-oon alumni. Arpeggiator meditation. ¶Top

GEL02 Ryan Garbes "Exterminator Sunshine 2" C60 (pictured left)
Ryan Garbes of Wet Hair and formerly of Raccoo-oo-on remixes favorite youth-oriented urban music featuring Iggy, Crass, the Impressions, and more. This is a print version of the previously online-only release. See exterminatorstarshine.blogspot.com for more releases and details. ¶Top

GEL03 Driphouse "Sewer Mist" C44
Inspired by winter walks over manholes, "Sewer Mist" paints a landscape of a dull-gray vision New York where foul mist and dirty snow, peppered with sand and concrete are realized on a Roland Alpha Juno-1. Micro-loops and plenty of digital clipping are to be heard from what could be a misinterpreted, post-industrial Kosmische sound. ¶Top

GEL04 Pukers "Born In The U.S.A." C20 The rumor of the Los Angeles group Pukers quietly breaking up are still undetermined, but fortunately for those hungering for the ear-ache sounds of the duo, former Raccoo-oo-oon member Andy Spore pulled some new hits from the archives. Some songs vaguely sound like rehydrated covers of Led Zepplin "Stairway to Heaven" or the Beatles' "Yesterday", or even Bruce Springsteen's "Born In The U.S.A." but rest assured, these sounds are wholly unique Pukers experience. ¶Top

GEL05 Dunebuggy "Mirage Ma Hal" C15
Rock and roll at its essentials require very few things to excite the mind, which Iowa City's Dunebuggy satisfy these very well. Taterbug croons on the microphone while holding down the base sound with the guitar while Ryan Garbes of (Wet Hair and Raccoo-oo-oon fame) keeps things steady with the rhythm kit. A pseudo Les Rallizes Denudes cover appears on the first track as well!¶Top

GEL06 Evan Miller "Contacting The Eye" C14
The folk instrument may sound abandoned, but these very clean compositions from Evan Miller display a different instrumental integrity. Melody is stripped away which reveals very focused arrangement of harmonics and drones that live in the now. These tracks offer something invaluably refreshing from this traditionally finger-plucking performer. ¶Top

GEL07 51717 "Sch" C33
Fusions of sounds rarely occur with success. "Sch" is a rare success indeed as 51717 brings out the best of the east and the west. The tracks appear like romantic synth reflections of Hong Kong cinema, while taking advantage of the ambient possibilities of electronic music.¶Top

GEL08 V/A "Radio Malaysia" C60
Malaysia is a den of consumerism as the now-aged concept of post-modernism has not hit their recent first-world lifestyle. The basic impressions of underground music follows: Crust and thrash bands are the rage while Black Metal is deemed as anti-islamic and their records banned from the country, unless one has the money to bribe the customs agent. The last noise show to occur was in a flashy bar of a mall whose Pyramid-themes took a Disneyland look. This happened to be Justice Yeldham playing through an amp. They shut his sound off after a few minutes because customers were leaving the outdoor bar in flocks. So what do the common people listen to on the radio? Radio Malaysia presents a sound of various frequency scanning. The multi-cultural hub provides sounds ranging from pop in the style of Chinese, Indian, and some American disco, while another spectrum provides traditional tunes of Indian raga and Islamic prayer.¶Top

GEL10 Driphouse "Moog Workshop" C24
This recording was created during a temporary employment position at a commercial music studio. The result: ten incredibly brief tracks composed on a Moog Modular in the vein of classic early Moog adopters. Strains of Wendy Carlos or BBC Radiophonics Workshop may be heard through this cassette as the listener travels within it. Daren Ho, the man also known as Driphouse, underwent several days of library music listening required as part of the employment. Many of those songs end up in a third of major broadcast television and radio commercials. "Moog Workshop" is a reflection of this brief stint.¶Top
